Assessing Hourly Aerosol Properties Retrieval from MSG/SEVIRI Observations in the Framework of Aerosol-cci2

Abstract

This paper presents an evaluation of the retrieval of aerosol properties on an hourly basis from SEVIRI onboard MSG within the ESA Aerosol_cci2 project. It discusses algorithm configuration, performance over Europe and North Africa, and the results’ integration potential for long-term climate monitoring.
